I had a doctor's appointment today I totally forgot about, so I don't really have much extra time. The bad news is that there won't be much of a post. The good news is that while I was in the waiting room, my Hot Springs Story resort (Howliday Inn) rolled over the competition to become the #1 hot springs in Japan. Seriously, guys - If you have an iOS device, you need to check out Kairosoft's lineup - they're 3 for 3 so far.
I really did boot up my Animal Crossing game and turned it off the second I started to feel that familiar tug of addiction. I'm sure I'll get an earfull from Resetti the next time I relapse.
After spending around an hour with From Dust, I can tell you two things with unwavering confidence:
1.) If you dig god games, you should probably buy From Dust.
2.) If you have a PC that will run it, you should probably wait a few weeks and buy that version.
From Dust is by no means bad on 360 and if that's your only option, your $15 will not be wasted. My problem is that I'm not terribly adept at drawing things with an Xbox 360 controller (or in general, some might argue) and from the very second I gained control of The Breath (the player-controlled deity), 50% of my brain was devoted to imagining how much better it would be if controlled with a mouse. An annoyance, yes, but by no means a dealbreaker.
You guys should play this game.
